Talk with the doctor about any of these symptoms. Eye problems are cause for immediate medical attention. Other symptoms that may cause a person to contact a doctor would be chest pain, coughing up blood, or seeing blood in the urine.
After treatment, symptoms of Wegener granulomatosis can return. Most often, symptoms return within two years of the end of treatment with
medications. People with Wegener granulomatosis should continue to see the doctor regularly.
Some people may develop long-term
kidney problems (renal failure) and may need
dialysis (a process of medical filtering) or a kidney transplant .
There is no known way to prevent this disorder.
